ThelaTrack ("we," "us," or "our") operates a mobile application for discovering street vendors (thelas), viewing their menus and prices, and ordering from them. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app and related services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Full name, email address, and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication).
- Profile and preferences: Display name, role preference (neighbor or vendor), and the thelas you follow.
- Cart and order information: Items you add to your cart and the orders you place — items, quantities, prices, totals, date and time, and whether you chose pickup or delivery.
- Delivery address: Only if you choose delivery, the address you enter at checkout, stored with that order.
- Vendor menu information: If you use a vendor account, your thela's name and category, and the menu items and prices you add.
- Location data: Approximate device location may be used on your device to show nearby thelas and proximity alerts. It is not shared with other users.
Payments: Orders are paid in cash directly to the vendor. We do not collect or store card, bank, or mobile-wallet details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you securely.
- Show thelas, their menus and prices, and alert you when a thela you follow is nearby.
- Keep your cart, place your orders, and show your order history in the app.
- Record your delivery address with an order when you choose delivery.
- Show a vendor's thela and menu to other signed-in users.
- Respond to support requests and communicate important service updates.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. Firebase and Third-Party Services
ThelaTrack uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Data processed by Firebase is subject to Google's Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising. Your cart, orders and delivery addresses are linked to your account and shown only to you in the app. If you use a vendor account, your thela's name, category, menu items and prices are visible to signed-in users of the app.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your account data, cart and order history while your account is active. You may delete your account in the app or via our Account Deletion page, which lists what is deleted. We may retain limited records only where required by law.
6. Children's Privacy
ThelaTrack is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
